Bacitracin is a polypeptide antibiotic that works by inhibiting the incorporation of amino acids and nucleotides from the cell wall.

In broilers and replacement chickens, it is recommended for the control of necrotic enteritis caused by Clostridium perfringens or other organisms susceptible to bacitracin methylene disalicylate.

In turkeys, it is recommended for the control of contagious enteritis (blue crest, mud fever) complicated by organisms susceptible to bacitracin methylene disalicylate.
